Decision analysis has an underlying philosophy of an assiduous objective of improving decision-making by describing and coding knowledge, or essential relationships, through a discerning selection and application of information. Such information is derived from identified sources, each contributing essential sets or streams of data for the construction of coherent information. This is achieved by attempting to approximate ultimate realities or the most general cause and effect relationships. This involves the need to comprehend the principles of natural phenomena as well as human action and conduct. This generic philosophical approach is applicable in all known domains.
